Note: The performance was in dialogue with a lecture on crisis that was be held by Kajsa Ekis Ekman on the 25th of April.
CFT is a work about collapsing motions as potent spaces. It explores movement affects that relate with crisis and traces images of bodies in decay as moments of opening a dialogue. The performers work with material that can be dynamically reshaped in their architecture (modeling clay, plasteline, potato-flour, e.t.c.) to potentialize a variety of inquiries around de-composing structures and around the re-shaping societies in recession. In this slow moment of decay, linear oppositions of social signification are destabilized (like care- violence, pain-happiness, together-alone) to offer ground for moments of “melting” together.
The outcome is a performance around constantly de-solving your buildings, discourses and formats, dealing with physically covering and revealing space(s) and intensifying this process of transmutation within versatile layers. The material acts as a trigger of an atmosphere that then becomes the work via spreading it in different ways in the theater space (tonality, societal affect, visual impact etc.) for a community without a “we”. The choreography is executed by humans, potato-flour and other materials present in the space.
